Always a Parade

Someone asked me recently if i would miss Cedar Key if i were to ever move away? I was down at the point on the bike watching the sun set & taking  this photo a little while ago when i heard the words of an old gospel song in the distance. The music grew louder as a golf cart came by. A single guy was driving and he was equipped with, obviously, an excellent blue tooth BOSE speaker. The clear and unbroken tones poured forth... "I heard an old old story how a Savior came from glory how he gave his life on Calvary to save a wretch like me. I heard about his groaning of his precious blood atoning. Then I repented of my sins and won the victory". The last words that I heard of the song as they faded into the distance along with the golf cart and the sunset still ring in my mind..."O Victory in Jesus, my Savior forever..."
Yep I'd probably miss this quirky little town. This out post of odd and sometimes unusual humanity. But Cedar Key is a chapter in our lives that i would never have left out. Glad we wrote it.
O look here comes the lady with her bubble machine loaded on her dilapidated golf cart, magical clouds of iridescent bubbles reflecting in the last rays of sunlight. Cool.
Always a parade.
Footnote.
Today we had lunch at the Swampys Restaurant on the banks of the Rainbow River in Dunellon. The tables are outside along the banks of the spring fed river. Many palms line the river bank and mighty Cypress trees stand in the waters edge. A steady stream of wet humanity drifted by in the amazingly clear waters.  Kayakers, tubers, snorkelers, jet skiers, paddle boarders, pontoons all happily  passed us by as we sat under the umbrella clad picnic table. Old and young, happy dogs with life jackets, fishermen and women smiling and waving as they drifted past us. Hum...it's still a parade! Next chapter.
